Annie Brunyate was born in 1872 in Girton. She then went on to qualify as a doctor in Durham. She worked in a private practice in Dover before becoming assistant medical officer of health at Manchester on Stockport from 1913 to 1917 and then the Lindsey Division of Lincolnshire (1917-1932). She later became the medical health officer there and it was a unusual position for women. She Died in 1937. On February 27th 2013, the Dover’s Ladies Luncheon Club celebrated the Dover Suffrage Movement with the unveiling of a plaque for 3 movement leaders Alice Barlow, Dr Annie Brunyate and Lorna Bomford.
